About

HADIZA DOCKERAY was born and raised in St. Albans, NY. She formed her first band while working in Paris as a backing vocalist and dancer. The band performed in cafés and clubs, interpreting jazz standards and covers of r&b classics. After returning to NYC, Hadiza began writing her own music and quickly gained notice for her mellifluous voice, thought-provoking lyrics and high-energy performance style. Her band has performed at NYC venues including The Cutting Room, The Duplex NYC, Metropolitan Room, The Bitter End, and Triad Theater. Hadiza also enjoys performing jazz and popular standards with her longtime Music Director, David Pearl.
